I dont mean to go against any rules here talking about modding of any sorts, sorry if it is not allowed.

just curious, though I am over all considering buying the developers kit and actually starting to write apps, recently you may have seen how non-activated udid iphone owners, are able to run ios5 with the emergency call or something?

do you believe that will be fixed in the second beta, making installing beta 1 not only stupid, but dangerous?

thanks

i would have thought it'd be fixed seeing as it was plastered all over the internet, it'd be hard for Apple to have not seen it at some point in order to fix it, but if people really wanna keep using the beta they can always get their UDID activated and continue

Considering Apple (and anyone with common sense) would advise you not to run beta software on your primary device, it's not something they should be that concerned about. I also agree that installing a beta without knowing what you're doing is ill-advised, but generally not dangerous.

The work around to use iOS 5 Beta 1 only bypasses the activation, it doesn't actually activate your phone so you are unable to connect to the cellular network, which basically turns your phone into an iPod Touch.
