iOS5 forced install

Hi,
If apple don't allow iOS5 for the 3GS will I be able to download it from somewhere and use something like redsn0w to install it?

I know its been done on the android platform...

They will code it so it only works on an a4 or a5 chip if that were the case but apple will support the 3GS it'll just be a stripped down version!

That's pure speculation. No one knows what they'll support.

If the iPhone 3Gs get iOS 5, you will be able to install it. 🙄

If not, then you won't get it on there by hacking. Plus, do you really want iOS 5? Remember what iOS 4 acted like on the 3G. 😉

If it is released for the 3Gs, I'll definitely be waiting until I can make a custom baseband preservation IPSW. And then if I don't like it, I'll be restoring to 4.2.1 with blobs. 😛

happens every year. nothing you can do about it.

but as others have said, there won't be anyway to hack it onto unsupported devices, and i wouldn't think you'd want to do that either - performance would likely be unstable and underwhelming.

I think that's what most of us figure. though the 3gs might not have all the same features. however people love to speculate hence Mac Rumors!
