iOS5 + iPhone 3GS/iPod Touch 3rd Gen Performance? ? ?

Has anyone installed iOS5 on an iPhone 3GS or iPod Touch 3rd Gen? If so, could you comment on performance (battery life, any UI slowdowns, etc)...? TIA

I'm trying to get on my creaky old 3GS (my 4S just left Hong Kong according to UPS), and I'm on Restore #5 🙁

For the few seconds I got to play with iOS 5, I liked it so far. Now, if I could just get the 3GS to behave for a little bit longer... (the 4S is being shipped to Mom in Virginia then she will UPS it to me here in Balmer Central)

I'm going to give it a try tonight and update. From what I've read and some responses have said it actually IMPROVE performance.
