iOS5 iphone4 and hotmail

I have just upgraded to iOS5 and now my hotmail account only stores the last 4 emails the others just vanish from the phone they are not in the trash.

How is your Hotmail account set up (POP or ActiveSync)?

I think it's pop not really clued up on setup of things just happy if it works.
Can you give me a solution for both

No limit
