You seem to think of iOS as having the ability to be successful, it's free, people will install it, there are no market forces.

While that's true, I think that iOS 6 needs to be substantial because Jobs is gone. Apple wants to show the investors that even without Jobs, Apple can still make great products and will continue to innovate.

I agree with that, they need to kick the pants off 2012, and hopefully they'll refresh iOS' UI.
