i have an ipad mini and iphone 5 both jailbroken , i plan to update both to ios 7 today, dont really care about losing the jailbreak

my question for better performance should i install ios 7 by using restore/new connecting the ipad to my computer and using itunes?

or just upgrade over ios6 right from my ipad mini settings

a couple of years back i would have done the restore as new option, but today does it really make a difference ?

When I updated my jailbroken iPhone 4 without restoring a couple of years ago, it became very unstable. This was a long time ago though, don't know if things have changed. I still suggest you do a clean install.

Every time I update iOS I always restore back all my stuff, apps, music etc and never encounter any problems.. iOS 4 -> iOS 5 -> iOS 6 -> iOS 7

I think it's totally up to you as the user hah.

I've never had a problem "upgrading", though many people on the beta choose to go the clean install when applying the GM. That is those who were using the beta may be better off.
