So i tried to update my 6+ last night and -being the cautious Person that i am- i made a full backup of my phone on my Computer before, via iTunes. During the process, however, my phone crashed and i had to hard-reset it. The usual update + restore from backup followed. I was very surprised after it finished and ALL my health / activity data was gone :( Weirdly, during the process my apple Watch at one Point started showing the apple logo with the Progress circle around it (as if i tried to restore the watch, which i didn't touch at all). Had to pair the watch from scratch later and it installed all the apps anew.
Long Story short: Even though i was able to restore all Pictures, Messages, most of the setttings, etc. i am missing my health and activity data from April (when i bought the watch) until last night.

    However,
i have on my mac a file from a week ago, with my Health data Export from within the Health app. I did this because of a shiny app i was working on, that imported the Export.xml data.
Is there ANY way to get that exported XML back into the health app?! Seems a lot easier than the pair of QS-Access and that $4 App (whatever its called 'Health importer' or something like that) that only imports csv files, since the XML file was created directly from the Health App on my iPhone.

Any help is greatly appreciated! :)

Oh, and do i understand correctly, that if i had backed up using an 'encrypted file' on my mac, the restoring process wouldn't have deleted all this data? Does that Kind of backup take any longer? Just for future updates ;)

I've had the health app data randomly disappear before, but just be patient. It's always come back for me. Usually within an hour.

Not noticeably. The initial backup may take a bit longer, but if you do frequent backups it can take literally just a few seconds.

If you have not encrypted the backup, the health data is gone. Happened to me as well.
