is it possible to change my ip address through terminal??? rather then having to connect through proxies etc.

i know its possible on mdos..

just wondering how to do so if its possible??

os 10.3

You can change your ip address for your local network fairly easily, but that is not what the outside world sees. Your IP is probably dynamically assigned, and so changes everytime you connect to the internet (you can't set this). IF you have a static IP address (usually you pay a small premium for this) then you may request a new one from your ISP, but be prepared to tell them why you want one (eg. someone is flooding you).
