Hello All

Issue with PB G4 its IP configuration problem

when i plug network cable here at the office i get an error that reads...

10.0.0.8 is in use by 00:10:5a:9c:97:e0, DHCP server 10.0.0.1

i'm thinking it has to do something with airport, which i turned off

also the MAC address above is different form the MAC addres on PowerBook
I'm running OS X Tiger

please advice

The MAC address being printed is the address of the device that already has IP 10.0.0.8 in use. Have you assigned your Mac a static address? Or have you got 10.0.0.8 assigned to you via DHCP on Airport and the try to use the same address via ethernet (different MAC addresses, DHCP server will not like this)?

i did not assign static address , i tried before it didn't work, Air Port is Off
10.0.0.8 is assign to our NT server as a static IP, PB should pick up IP address from our IP pool

OK. I assume that your IP pool for DHCP does not include 10.0.0.8 (it's always better to rule out the simple stuff)?

some how it conflicting with that IP address

i'm at lost...........
