Interesting experience just now.
texting with wifi in house, then X froze, noted the Location icon on in upper left ear but I always turn off at home.
I powered off, would not restart, put on power lightning cable and it restarted (battery at 82%). put LTE on in Cc, checked location icon still showing but when in Privacy settings, location was off. so I toggled Location on/off and icon disappeared from left ear.
so far seems back in the groove.
