Cannot find a similar thread but, should I now upgrade? I am on iOS 16.7.2, my iPhone 14 Pro Max is superbly smooth, fast, great battery. Has been since day one.

My 14 Pro is running 17. I'd wait until next week when 17.2 releases. 17.1.x created some issues for me like wirelessly charging my phone in the car. The 17.2 RC has fixed it. Otherwise, I have no complaints with it.

An update.

I installed 17.2.1 yesterday. It’s really good! Battery seems slightly better, and it was already very good. Overall seems slightly faster too. Visually and functionally seem nearly identical, not sure how they can call it 17 vs 16.8, but that’s a different story. Maybe under the hood. Ah, fonts seem a bit different, skinnier.

Overall, I like it.

Same experience here with 13pro, feels like there is slightly better battery stand-by than 16.7.2.
