.ipa files and iCloud

Hi All, did try searching but didnt quite come up with answer...

Now that we have icloud all singing and dancing, am i ok to go ahead and delete all the .ipa files on my laptop? i only have a smallish drive and 16gb of it is .ipa files from itunes. I presume as everything is all on the cloud now i don't need this but wasn't sure if itunes would just re-download them if i did, has anyone else done this?
