iPad 1 mirroing MLB

Today I connected my iPad 1 to my monitor to watch the ball game (Detroit-Kansas City) and was pleasantly surprise it work perfectly.

does it have to be that my iPad is running 4.3.1?

I just tried it and it didn't work — both on my LCD and my HDTV via VGA…are you jailbroken?

I didn't think mirroring was supported over the VGA adapter.

Are you sure that this is mirroring and not just video out which has always been supported? What happens if you go to the iPad home screen?
