My iPad is getting hot around the home button, and on the back right beneath the home button . I'm not doing anything cpu intensive, just watching youtube, using safari . I just got it today and set it up as a new device. Anyone else notice it getting hot ?

Not uncommon. Also, your iPad is likely warm from the initialization process during its over all set up. The battery is near the home button and will expel heat in this area.

Other forum members have had their 10.5 iPad become warm using certain applications during usage.

Here are some other links for reference regarding the 10.5 iPad getting warm during usage.

I get this when it turns up the brightness (auto brightness), for example when using it outside or whilst in the car. Otherwise it's quite cool. When it gets hot, slide up from the bottom to show the control centre and check what the brightness level is.

As I was setting up my 10.5 (which included an iOS 10 update and restoring from ICloud) the back was getting pretty warm, especially on the Apple Logo.
