Ipad 2 3G locked or unlocked

I was looking at the Apple site and it says it is pre-configured to work only with 1 carrier. What if you travel or live overseas and need to use 3G overseas with various different carriers 😕

Anyone here able to confirm if they bought one from the US and are able to use 3G in any Asian country?

I am not in possession of an iPad 2 but I believe the AT&T iPad will be unlocked.

Meaning you can't buy an AT&T one and expect it to work on a CDMA network. But it would overseas on another micro-sim or GSM network.

If you're here in the states you'll need to choose: micro-sim or verizon. Thats what the "one carrier" means.
