What is the normal ipad 2 charging time? I swear mine takes forever to charge. The battery is lasting as it should but takes forever to charge.

I dont know whats the average charging time since i charge overnight, but i can say that mine also takes a long time to fully charge.

Are you charging it with the included wall charger? That puts out more power than standard computer USB ports.

I think i am using the plug for my iphone but the cable that came with the ipad.

I had the exact problem as you. What I didn't realize is that the iPhone USB Power adapter is only half the wattage as the supplied one for the Ipad. Use the 10W for the IPad and it will be just fine.

Same here. I noticed when I charge during the d ay though it takes a LONG time! But the bTtery seems to last me forever so I guess that's why it takes so long to charge

yeah, I had the same problem using the iphone charger. Even when I used the iPad one it takes a really long time though. But...iPad usually lasts me way longer than the phone, so I'm cool with that :)

A cable is just a cable. U could use any cable and would work. The actual charging plug is where the money is right?

Seems to take 3-4 hours for mine to get back to 100% from 10% or so using the iPad wall charger.

That's consistent with what I'm seeing. At first it seemed long compared to the time it takes for the iPhone to charge, but considering the battery is much larger in terms of capacity, it seems to make sense given the charging voltage.

I noticed mine did not charge hardly at all if I was using the iPad while it charged. I charge it overnight now, and that is all I need to do. But I do notice it takes a lot longer to charge than my MBP

6 hours

I ran down my new iPad2 completly down to where it would not start last night and today I charged it with the supplied charger and it took it 6 hours from completly dead to 100%.
It seems to take FOREVER!

I'm charging mine for the first time now (typing on it) and it does take quite a time for me as well. Big battery though guess that's why.

Guy's (obviously new to iPad owners) the iPad batteries are HUGE. The iPhone's batteries are a bathtub and even with the small spigot (5W charger) they fill fast. The iPad's batteries are a swimming pool and even with a fire hose (10W charger) it taks hours to fill up.

For best results just plug your iPad in every night (to the "fire hose" and not the "spigot") and let it charge.

I took anpic of both both chargers but I can't seem tonupload the pic I just took. Oh well.. After using the 10w, it charged fairly quickly. Just don't use the iPhone wall plug-in. It will take forever to charge.

Will charging shut off after it reaches 100%? Will it hurt the batteries to leave it on overnight? Should you run the battery down to 10-20% before charging?
