Ipad 2 error (27)

Can someone help? I haven't used this Ipad in a few years. I need at least iOS 6.x to run this app (shows how long i havent used it). I went to download the new iOS last night connected to wifi and i received this message:

"iOS 7.1.2 failed verification because you are no longer connected to the internet"

Tried it from another wifi connection same error. So i connected it to Itunes, downloaded the software and was ready to install when the attached message came up. It says,

The ipad "ipad" could not be updated, an unknown error occured (27). Thoughts???

back up your iPad and keep backing it up to iTunes, and wait for more people to respond
make sure to back up everything, like pictures, etc

you will probably have to 'dfu it' and it will erase everything. so whatever the answer is, make sure you have good backups

download the latest iTunes.

by any chance, do you have an old 32 bit mac?
they broke iTunes for 32 bit macs.
and theres a special 32 bit iTunes you can get

Did you say you're trying to get iOS 7.1.2 on it? That won't work at all. No longer being signed by Apple. You can either install iOS 8.4.1, or iOS 9.0 in like a week or two.

I'd suggest going through iTunes and restoring the iPad as new. You will probably run into less problems that way.

oh yeah your right. you cant install 7.1.2 because its no longer signed
