iPad 2 fully chargeable from USB?

Not sure if this has been clarified and I didn't see anything at the very bottom about it. It shows that you can now charge via USB. I know with the iPad 1 it would show 'not charging' but still charged very very slowly. Does this appear to have changed now?

My iPad used to charge when i connected it to my MacBook Pro. But not my white MacBook though.

I don't think there has been any change
It just depends on the USB port
Only the later MBPs supplied enough power to show "charging"

Also on most mac's some of the USB ports are powerful enough to charge the iPad and some aren't.

As in the first USB is powerful enough but the rest aren't.
