Regarding color/tone.

As I understand it the new glass is a thinner glass that supposedly bends a bit. Made in Japan as I heard.

Because it is completely different glass than the iPad1 perhaps some difference in color tone is to be expected.

It's also coated now with that anti-fingerprint stuff they use on the phones, right? I don't believe that was on the iPad1.

Given both of these, like I said, should expect some changes.

Your complaining about that one little yellow dot!?

I have it all over the borders of my iPad 2.

Just actually came back from the Apple store, they ordered me a replacement, 5-8 days!

The yellowing does go away after a few days of use. Mine was yellow all over the screen and even looked blurry in some spots. After a few days of use it has gone away and I can say there is no difference now between my original iPad and the iPad 2 as far as clarity and white levels go.

No, they don't all have backlight bleeding. Did you go from house to house checking everyone's iPad ? How do you check for backlight bleeding ?

I'm guessing this person has not gone to every house to check but I'm willing to bet there are more iPads with this issue than Apple is willing to deal with at the bah.;)

Was at the Genius Bar today because of an iPhone problem and asked the tech about my iPad 2 vs my friend's iPad 2 - same everything! Hers is yellow all over; mine isn't. Used apple.com website as an example b/c of white background. He said it will go away as she uses it more (mine from launch day; hers bought yesterday). Also, my new iPhone - that he gave me as a replacement because of Bluetooth issue also looks yellow. Could these really clear up!

I have the same yellow tinting as well but it doesnt bother me if I dont compare it to my iPad 1. It's all relative. In fact, I didn't knew about it having backlight bleeding (iPad 2 bleeds more).

I posted some pics in comparison: My 16gb iPad 1 is on the left, 32gb iPad 2 on right, both wifi, full brightness.

Anandtech mentions that apple is using multiple LCD vendors which might be the reason of different color temperatures. http://www.anandtech.com/show/4225/the-ipad-2-review/12
