I probably will call Apple tomorrow to see if they have any replacements available, but I'm curious what you all think of this issue.

Near the headphone jack at the top of my iPad 2, at the front, the thin strip of white plastic around the bezel seems to have come loose. You can push on it lightly and hear it "click" back into place. It seems kind of minor, but is really bugging me.

Has anyone else had a similar issue? Do you think you'd try to exchange it?

I also have a PhantomSkinz on the back that I'd probably lose if I get the iPad replaced. Anyone know PhantomSkinz policy on that? Do you think they should or would send me a replacement? (I emailed, so we'll see what they say.)

Well, in case anyone is curious:

I went to Apple today and they replaced my iPad 2. I didn't expect them to have a replacement available, but they did. The Genius said that they've had a couple of returns with the same issue that I had, so my iPad would probably go right to some tech at Apple to investigate why some are separating in that location.

PhantomSkinz said they would send me a replacement cover for the back, too.

So I guess all is good in the world. My new iPad 2 has the issue where you can see a little separation around the bezel, but at least it's attached...

Sweet man. Mine had a slight single stuck pixel and the genius was super cool and exchanged it for me. Gotta love Apple Care! Loving it even more since its PERFECT :)

Can you possibly take a pic for an example? Got my ipad2 the other day but haven't gone over it with a magnifying glass yet. :)

I tried to take a picture before returning it, but I'm not sure how well it came out and if you can really see the issue or not. It was much more noticeable by touch than by sight.

After reading your post I checked my ip2 and found that I had the same problem. It seems like the glue in the same corner of my screen is coming loose. This is also the same corner that I have significant light bleeding. While it isn't a huge deal, it is definitely not acceptable. Hopefully my local apple store has a replacement that isn't in worse shape than this one.

I have the exact same issue, which is a shame because I have no other defects and mine is solid. Thinking about an exchange, so thanks for posting.

If it really is a defect, I say keep bringing them back until Apple gets it right.

I had the same issue and posted about it a few days ago.

This problem did not appear until after a few days after ownership. It was definitely not there when I first got mine. Luckily, I was within the 14 days Best Buy return window. I returned it and found another of the same model. No problems with the new one yet.

No replacement available today, but the Apple Store ordered one for me.

I have a Black iPad 2 and I noticed the same thing this morning. I ran my figure across the top and I felt the plastic edge sticking out and could hear it when I move my figure up and down. It's in the exact space place as yours so I think a design flaw.

hate to bump an old thread, but want to report my ipad is the same way.

I am guessing that is the place where they insert a tool to fit the parts together. On mine, the plastic strip sags a bit and you can see to little prongs, which i think are part of the headphone jack assembly. It's very minor, and my unit is flawless in every other respect....so I think it is just a design flaw.
