It will take a bit to get it packaged up and ready for us.

Can't wait, this was all posted on my 16GB White iPad 2 Wifi. I love it!

Can anyone give an estimate, based off of previous releases, as to how long it'll take for a public release? I can't be the only one itching to jailbreak my iPad2.

I cared. Geez, why so mad?

There might be an answer in the original thread posted.

I'm no expert, but it's a user land exploit which is in the firmware itself. Jailbreaks on other iDevices are hardware which means Jailbreakable for life.

It's most likely going to be at jailbreakme.com, which is a .PDF used to exploit. So I guess a few days at most. It's not going to be a program like Redsn0w or pwnagetool.
So it should be pretty quick.

I don't understand why everyone is getting so mad. It got moved, chill out.

Muscelnerd tweeted that all iPad 2 jailbreaks would have to be userland. Im glad comex found an exploit...and especially this fast.

Me too, I've been hoping it would happen soon.
Hopefully they find a hardware/low-level exploit so it will be jailbreakable for life. But I know for a fact that would near a release until the iPhone 5 is released and purchasable.

Chill....I didn't seen it. Besides, it was bound to happen. It's easier to find in the main forum.
Edit: Thanks for moving it!

Where is the best place for jailbreak news. I thought it would be here, but based on the response of this posting, makes me think there is some other place.

Like, I just want to know if 4.3 is untethered broken for iPad 1, but there is no clear answer here on this forum.

Thanks!

He meant it'll have to be user land for awhile till they can scan the new boot rom for exploits. Because it's much quicker and easier to find a user land exploit then a boot rom exploit.

Anybody have any speculation on when this will be ready for us?

I'm getting anxious waiting for it!

Apparently 4.3.1 is on the way for security reasons, which they're waiting for.

4.3 is not on the way. They speculated that because they thought 4.3 would be hacked at some conference but only 4.2.1 was so there is no need for a 4.3.1. They aren't waiting for anything. They are in the process and working out bugs. It is one thing to successfully JB, another to actually release it to the public problem free. When it is done it'll be released. Comex is working on it.

Speculation that it could be tomorrow at noon:

Hopefully it comes out soon!

What a news story. Closest the "article" comes to a source is "supposedly".

Why would he release a jailbreak for 4.3 tomorrow when 4.3.1 is imminent? A vulnerability was found publicly at pwn2own that needs to be patched by Apple. Burning another vulnerability would be dumb. Sorry, just sayin'. It's not gonna be tomorrow.

As someone posted earlier, why would apple release 4.3.1 when the pwn2own exploit doesn't work on 4.3? Charlie miller said it himself that it doesnt work on 4.3 due to ASLR.
" 0xcharlie Both my pwn2own bugs survived "massive" update today by Apple. However, iPhone exploit won't work against iOS 4.3, but thats ok for contest
10 days ago"

That's straight from his twitter. I dont know if it's coming out tomorrow or not, I'm just wondering why everyone keep saying 4.3.1 is going to come out very soon.

Why would you spread rumors of a 4.3.1? What's your source for the pwn2own "publically" found bug on 4.3? Do share wise one.

Thats basically what Charlie said on his twitter, which is that the exploit doesn't work on 4.3

No the website that the guy was kind enough to provide says something a little more subtle. And if that source is reliable, Apple ought to release 4.3.1. It says the exploit itself fails, but the vulnerability still remains, whatever that means. My guess is they are suggested the exploit could be updated to work on 4.3. The threat is not been permanently closed.
