iPad 2 (or something) shows up in the wilds of China

I don't think it is recessed, but it does look very much like the headphone port on the iPod touch. Engadget also suggests that the white covering for the 3G antennas may just be for a prototype and that it will be replaced by black in the final product.
The only thing that looks odd is the speaker, I would think that they could have come up with something that looked better than just a square matrix of holes.
In any case, I don't see any real reason to believe that this is the new design, but neither can I say for sure that it is fake.
In a few of those pics the white antenna almost looks like a very thin tape. On the dgle site one pic you can almost see a bulge that shows a tiny gap like this is wrapped around the actual spot.
The screen seems fake to me. Like others have said, paper insert or something. Its way too washed out color-wise.
I can't call it ugly though, it looks like a skinny version of the first iPad, which I didn't find particularly ugly... so how could I call this one ugly?
I'm definitely going to get the iPad, but if that's the finished product it'll be the first iPad.

Looks like just another placeholder/mockup like several we've seen before. There are several blemishes on the aluminum, like it's not really a quality finished part. The size of the front facing camera seems really strange, much bigger than the lens size on the iPhone 4, iPod touch, or Macbooks. Definitely not a finished product, and possibly contains no parts from Apple at all.
My disgust at the speaker grille is tempered by the fact that I will never see it. iPad goes in case on day 1. If the sound is drastically improved it will be worth the aesthetic sacrifice.
It looks seriously thinner which means seriously lighter. Nice.

Love it, makes the old one look so outdated. Very sleek and the front looks better with less aluminum showing. Gonna have to get a case I bet the screen shatters easily just like ip4.
