So my iPad 2 just powered off for no reason. I plugged it into the computer and the Apple logo flashes up, and then black screen. A few seconds later, Apple logo, and then black screen again (repeat, repeat,) It does the same thing when plugged into a power outlet: Apple logo, black screen, Apple logo, black screen.

I am guessing that this is a bad battery, does that sound about right?

Or a blown logic board. In fact if it's doing it when plugged in, I'd say it's not the battery since the system would bypass the battery at that point to power up from the charger.

There is a slim shot it's software so you could try a DFU restore
