With the release upcoming, what are the closest range for the new prices?

According to speculation, would adding cameras, faster processor, etc..would these items raise the price from the current models?

Price increase: Very unlikely
Price Decrease: Unlikely, but if so, $50 max
Same price: Possible

If they come out with ****** specs like rumoured (single core A8 processor) they had BETTER drop the prices by at least $100. Lets hope they aren't stupid enough to use the ancient A8 processors.

I am thinking we may see a price drop of $129.us — sort of: prices will remain the same, except 3G will no longer be optional.

It will be cheaper than Motorola Xoom or galaxy crap. It will be cheaper than any other useful tablets out there.

It depends on what they offer. I am predicting many sku. I think that they will keep one of the current sku like the ipad 16 gb wifi and make it 299 and 399 for the wifi/3g. Then, iPad 2 will have 2 sku: 32gb and 64gb (wifi: 499,599) and 3g (630,730). Plus, iPad 2 pro: 128 gb wifi retina (799), 128 gb wifi/3g/lte/retina (930). I think iPad 2 pro will sell less because it will be expensive. However, I would buy one.

I'm expecting them to drop the prices of 3G version by 30$. Other than that I don't think they'll change the current pricing.

There'll be nothing like iPad Pro.

And I don't think they'll drop the price of the 1st gen to 300$, they may drop it to 400$ though.

"iPad Pro - now you can check your email and play games in a more professional way."

Where were you in 1997? When Steve Jobs took under Apple, they were swimming in SKU: he trimmed it all down to just a few — the bare minimum for the company. This is a well-learned lesson, that simplification works. Give the buyer a tiny bit more value by merging models, your production, inventory and store servers are greatly streamlined, goodwill+cost-savings = win-win.

It's hard to say what the top price point will be but I'd bet the rent money that Apple will keep the sub $500 entry point.

There may even be a slight chance that Apple could really blow the competitions mind's by offering a $399 (or $429) price point by keeping the "old" 16GB gen 1 in the line (maybe in new case with front camera).

What makes you say this? I don't believe they will drop the Wi-Fi only model. If they do, they risk losing huge profits. Most people already have smartphones with internet, some that even act as hotspots, 3G isn't something in high demand, not when we pay that same fee on our phones.

Not saying there isn't good reasons why 3G is a choice, just voicing my opinion.

I think the base prices will stay the same, but the add-on cost for 3G will go down. Probably to $100, but there's a slim chance it could be $50-70. Capacities will stay the same. I can't see them retaining the old model at a lower price unless they cripple it further, like cutting the storage to 8GB.

Apple doesn't usually raise prices and while there are example of such (mac mini), I don't think they'll be doing it for the iPad 2.

Really hope they don't raise the price, I kind of have a set budget for the iPad and don't want to be short come near the release...or I will need to sell my body again...*sigh* :p

Uhhhhh...wut?

They will stay the same...obviously. Apple might even put more memory into the low-end WiFi model.

there's no way the prices will go down after apple has seen how many they sold since launch last year. insane.

i personally think prices will remain the same for this iteration at least. i'd still pay the price for a new generation ipad whatever the price may be (especially if it does indeed have retina), but i don't see them raising the prices.

I see this:

16GB iPad (current version) for $399
- No 3g model available
32GB iPad 2 for $499
+ 3G for $599
64GB iPad 2 for $599
+ 3G for $699
128GB iPad 2 for $699
+ 3G for $799

Slightly lower prices for the 3G
