No way. 2GB is not even valid at all. 1GB is wishful thinking in my opinion.

I say an absolute max of 512MB. Apple will tell you that you don't need more than that (and they need to keep costs down).

The cost of sticking another 512Mb RAM in an iPad comes out at about $8 I think. Not really breaking the bank, but it does mean that next year they can give us 1GB and we will all need to upgrade then.
Then the year after 2GB

That is unless we see a lot more tablets coming out with 2GB of RAM in the next year.

$8 per extra 512MB of RAM adds up when you plan to sell 10 million of them. And they're going to sell 10 million of them, with or without that extra 512MB, so might as well keep the $80 million.

512MB is what it will be.
