I was surprised. My 5 year old iPad still gets the latest iOS, good move Apple. Good move.

iPad 2 was released in 2011. It's three years old.
Not too surprising really, given how recently it was still being sold. iPad 3rd gen not supported though.
I expect the feature set of iOS8 on iPad 2 and iPad mini will be quite limited, but still good to see.
Eek! Typo.
iPad 3 WILL be supported, it is listed on the site as iPad with retina display, and during the presentation they stated that iOS 8 will run on any device that runs iOS 7.

iPad 2 and iPhone 4S both run the A5 chip. If they killed one they would have to kill the other. Both get to live on for another year.
Where's the list of supported devices?
Well, that statement is wrong because iPhone 4 isn't getting it.
Yeah. Apple wasn't able to kill the iPad 2 with iOS 7, so they're going for another shot with iOS 8. 😉I KNEW IT. I KNEW iPad 2 will survive! It's a beast of a tablet, don't joke with it. 🙂
