I had the same situation with the first iPad 2 (returned it for defective display). It was so tight that I to really give it a good pull. I also notice is was starting to cut the aluminum side walls of the dock after a few times. The one I have now is much better.
Mine was so tight I thought I was going to break her when I tried to pull out. After a few weeks of going in and out, she finally started to loosen up. Now its pretty much like throwing a hotdog down a hallway.

Me too. It cutoff part of the 30-pin plug, and one side of the plug has a way harder time going in than the other. Pretty bad. My last iPad 2 didn't have this problem, infact I remember actually liking how easy it was to plug in compared to my iPhone.
