There is definitely a huge advantage to reading PDFs with the ipad 3 (ASSUMING the PDFs are of a high enough quality)

The book is Thinking with Type, a great read though, probably even greater on the new iPad ;)

So, to conclude, the new iPad is generally better for reading scanned books, and I think it is definitely worth spending a little more money on, then getting a previous gen. Ok guys, thank you for all of the answers and I will definitely get back to you when I get the iPad, for my final thoughts. :)

Your just going to have to compare the two yourself. You can't rely on anyone here, as they are all biased do to their expenditures.

But I would imagine that forward is usually an improvement.

As for the NEw iPad being a huge improvement. With scanned material-no.

Unless your scanner is the size of Lake Michigan. :)
