The bigger device with the bigger battery is better.

The iPad.

It depends: my iPhone runs out of battery faster than the iPad primarily because I user it as business phone and make a lot of calls, it usually lasts a working day. viceversa the iPad (wifi) has a two days of battery life under my usage conditions

The iPad battery life is much better than the iPhone, but the iPhone clearly beats the battery life of my toaster oven.
