hi..when i try to turn off my girlfriend's iPad 2 to install a Best Skins Ever shield, it just ends up resetting and doesn't stay off....tried a restore and keeps doing the same thing..any suggestions?

how are you trying to turn it off? Holding both buttons at the same time resets it, but just holding the lock button at the top until the 'slide to power off' slider appears will power it down.

I have this issue, too. Makes it really hard to jailbreak. My iPad will turn off fine when not plugged in, but keeps turning itself back on once I plug it in.

Just an FYI, I fixed this issue by using a different computer where the USB ports wouldn't charge the iPad. This allowed me to turn it completely off in order to run redsnow. Still not sure why it wouldn't turn off while charging, but at least I am jailbroken now. :)
