Would it be a good idea to buy a new iPad 2 for £312 via Amazon, that's a pretty good deal right?

16GB wi-fi. :p

I know you guys pay stupid VAT charges, but that's a $399 US unit here, and $349 in the Apple refurb store. To me you paying $500 for it in UK is sheer highway robbery, not a good deal but with the crown exacting their pound of flesh I really can't say.

Is there a UK refurb store through Apple?

I see and agree and yeah there is a refurb store in the UK, but there's no refurbished iPad 2s at 16GB xD

It is pretty much standard price. In Denmark we pay 2999 DKK for the 16 gb iPad 2. Thats about 325 british pounds.

Or should I just wait for the 2013 version of the iPad ? Rather than buying the iPad 2 which is a year old now.

Apple's standard retail price for an iPad 2 16Gb wifi (the only one they still sell) is £329. Is saving the £17 worth it?

Although as others say, keep an eye out for refurbs on the online store.

only you can answer the question of whether or not you should wait...

i'm sure the next generation of ipad will be great, but for the needs of many, the ipad 2 is a sweet machine.

True, thanks for the clarification. The iPad seems like a toy compared to my Macs though. I'd rather have another Macbook personally. :p

Thinking on getting a new iPad soon :p
