Hey guys,

I know that the whole Samsung/TSMC discussion that we had when the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus were released is not relevant anymore. I think, however, that it would be nice to know who manufactures A9 chips for the new iPad 5th gen. iFixit's teardown has revealed a Samsung chip (APL0898 found in models N71AP and N66AP)) in their unit. (https://nl.ifixit.com/Teardown/iPad+5+Teardown/85098) Could that mean that TSMC does not produce them anymore?

It would be great if some of you could check this. Download from AppStore a handy free app called "AX-CPU – System + Processor Profiler" for identifying your chip and you will know it immediately.

It's not like it's a big deal which chip you have, but I think it would be interesting to know...

The new iPad is their bargain basement iPad...I don't think it will matter who makes the chip.

But if you have the TSMC...then smile for 20 seconds. Then forget about it.

Same model here, my battery life is insane! This is right now with my son playing a ton of angry birds epic on it ...
