Hi I own an old ipad air but needed a new ipad which should be arriving in the coming days. I had an apple red leather smart case that I like alot. I'm pretty sure that does not exist anymore. It had the smart cover with the different prop angles (plus on/off screen) But was leather all around and helped keep my ipad safe (esp. from drops). As I understand it the cover protects just the screen and does not encase the corners/sides and the back. Before that I had a dodocase that was very sturdy but too bulky for every day use.

What smart cases can you recommend? I do not need a keyboard so I was looking for other options. Something not too bulky but that can help absorb some of the punishment.

Thanks,
Philly

Might want to check out that Logitech Slim Folio. I've had one on my 2017 Gen 5 for a few weeks. So far, very nice.

The closest thing to the old Apple smart case is probably from Sena. If you like to use your iPad in stand mode, then you may want to check out the Zugu Prodigy X — it’s not real leather, but is made from very nice materials and is very well made.
