iPad 2018:

A10 Fusion SoC
8 MP rear camera
1.2 MP front camera
Apple Pencil support
Touch ID
Apple Pay support

No mention of memory, but I'm 99.9% sure it will be 2 GB RAM.

$329 for individuals, and $299 for schools.

Height: 240 mm (9.4 inches)
Width: 169.5 mm (6.6 inches)
Depth: 7.5 mm (0.29 inch)
Weight: 469 grams (1.03 pounds)

The dimensions are exactly the same as the 2017 iPad (and thicker than the 2014 iPad Air 2) and the innards are almost exactly the same too. The two changes are the A10 Fusion SoC and the Pencil support.

BTW, Logitech has also released a US$49 "Crayon" stylus for half the price of the Pencil, for this push into schools.

I was expecting a new cheaper Pencil, but this wasn't quite what I was expecting.

Thanks - no one would ever know, had you not created this thread.

Well, it was meant as a general thread. However, other threads on this topic were also posted at the same time, or just minutes before, as I was typing this.

Anyhoo, the one thing I did add in my post was that I believe this has 2 GB RAM. Why? Just because it's an entry level product, and even the much more expensive and faster 2017 iPhone 8 has 2 GB RAM, as did the iPad Pro 9.7" back in 2016. Also, this 2018 iPad is almost identical to the 2017 iPad, just with a faster SoC and support for Pencil / Crayon.

I personally likely won't be upgrading from our iPad Air 2 -- which came with 2 GB RAM 4 years ago! --- until the non-Pro iPad gets 4 GB RAM.
