Picked mine up today at Mac Mall Santa Monica. They only have the 16gb wifi in black (which is what I wanted). They said they had about 100. Let me know how it goes!

Sounds unreasonable. Their waiting time is 4-5 weeks for online order.
I doubt why they would keep them in the local stock instead of trying to please (and charge) pre-ordered customers?
And 100 of them? Seriously? Even many Apple Stores do not have that number in stock.

Apd just trying to help people out - whether you believe me or not is on you. All I know is I got my iPad there last night.

If i called them in store do you think they would ship to me in orange county? I might just drive up tomorrow if they have them
Doubt they'd ship there brick and mortar store stock. Not even sure what their stock is today. Worth a 2 second call though!
I was at the apple store in Century City and they said they had hundreds in today. Also the saleperson said they were sold out in 1.5 hours.
