Hey, I've just tried facetime for the first time yesterday, and twice now the ipad has done a reset while in the middle of a conversation!

Seems to happen a few minutes into talking, first time happened after rotating the screen a few times, second time just reset the device in the middle of a conversation.

Anyone else had this issue? Would love to know otherwise this is looking like a faulty unit?

Do you mean that the device itself is turning off and back on, or just that the app is crashing and then coming back?

If the device is shutting off during anything you do then that is a serious problem, possible overheat issue. If you have apps crashing constantly then I would recommend a DFU restore and then setting it up as a new device as opposed to restoring from a backup.

Nope, the whole smash, full reset - back to apple logo then IOS reloads. Doesn't look good, as no one else has had this issue? Back to the apple store then?

Edit: This has only happened in facetime - not had this on any other app

Same Fault

I'm having exactly the same issue but with my iPhone 4S and my iPad 3

During a call, say 30secs to a minute in the device reboots back to the apple logo and pin login

Same here

Has anyone been able to solve this? I have this problem With my iPad 3 Wi-Fi only and my iPhone 4S.
And also the facetime software on my Macbook Air crashes.

What's wrong with facetime?

Thanks

Yes I have. It happened twice in one night during a FaceTime call. I think it may be software related.

Is this still a issue for some? My ipad 2 has been doing this for a week & a half already but it hasn't been like that until then. It's running on 6.1.2 but I think I heard if I still update it will still mess up. Do you think it's the software or cause its jb?

Ipad crashes and reboots during FaceTime

Whoever thinks this is an isolated problem is incorrect.
I have an iPad 2, iPad 4, iPad mini, and during one conversation,
each one of them crashed, and rebooted in exactly the same way.

This sounds like a Face Time bug to me, as 3 devices having same exact problem, with the same app, so it doesn't take a genius at a genius bar to repair this !

All three calls were to S.Korea is the only common denominator.
The person I was calling has never had the problem before on her device.
