Don't think apple is going to hop on the 3D bandwagon. The Evo 3D has been getting crappy reviews because the persistent 3D is annoying and that for all the hype the sensation seems to be the better phone. 3D also kills battery faster as the machine has to work wice as hard rendering the image your seeing twice.

I think the concensus will be Retina Display or bust.

It just doesn't make sense at this point in the tablet game to go "all out" on features. iPad is too far ahead of the competition to need to play into a specs war.

Toss a Retina Display on the iPad 2 and rake in the sales. I know I'll be on line.

I don't think the current hardware is good enough to drive these kinds of resolutions, though. Still, with one of the upcoming quad-core ARM SOCs and an even better GPU the iPad should be well ready for retina resolutions.

I won't buy another iPad (have first iPad now) until it has laminated retinaish screen, every other improvement is just a bonus to me.

If can do more than my iPad 1 in terms of functionality other than camera stuff I will jump on an iPad 3. The retina display is quite interesting and I think we will see it in the next revision. Not sure if that will be enough for me...

ARM processors? unless you want the iPad to function as a toaster as well.

While Retina display quality might belong on people's "Wish List" -I'm not sure it belongs in the category "Expectations"

Very high resolution monitors are expensive, especially as the panel gets bigger. Crunchgear had a story this week about a 4,096×2,160 panel (the same resolution as movie theater projectors) that sells for a cool $36,000.

I hope Apple is able to pull it off. But if it doesn't (instead, merely introducing some other great new features and capabilities) I predict howls and wails of anger.

Must have a Retina display for me.
I woudl love to see a faster cpu and 1GB of RAM - the RAM upgrade is probably the most important of these 2 - not so much for the OS but more for certain Apps.

Let me guess:
- Retina display
- Higher storage capacity (128 and 256GB)
- More RAM
- Faster CPU
- Increased battery time

In addition I sure hope they fix the two following issues:
- Availability. Just drop in a store and pick it up!
- No screen light bleeding

I had the first iPad for a little bit and while I had it I remember having a pretty fuzzy display as well, hopefully the iPad 3 will have a "near-retina" display and then I will be glad to purchase it.
