Anyone thinks this thing gets too hot while holding it in your hand?

How much cooler is the iPad 2?

yes, mine gets hot sometimes but usually it just becomes a little warm so it's not uncomfortable to hold. I put it in a case so I don't feel anything most of the time.

The iPad 2 stays cool but it doesn't have to push 4x the pixels as the the new iPad.

Don't worry you iPad is still operating within acceptable guidelines.

I think you could have taken ten seconds to do a search and found a half a billion posts on this already.

it's probably because of summer (assuming you live in a location where it's summer right now)... but watch in the winter, we will see thousands of posts about how happy people are that the iPad 3 is a warm device...

Mine gets really hot when plugged in and brightness on high, but that's expected.

dont notice it getting hotter when I'm holding it but if someone else is using it for a while i notice its quite hot when i get it back.

We, in the UK don't have such a thing as this "summer" you speak of. What is this alien season?

McDonald's should come out with a branded cover for the new iPad, so the hot stays hot and the cool stays cool.

It's well-documented that the iPad will get warm if the screen brightness is high (say, 75%+), if the cellular connection is used and/or a graphics intensive game is run.

Put the screen brightness down to 50% and it won't get hot anymore. After using mine at around 80% for weeks there is a drastic change when putting it down to 50% not only with the hotness but the battery life as well.

???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Aw come on, just wanted to see if anyone in the US remembered the McDLT sandwich. It had two compartments, one for the bun wth burger (hot) and one for the bun with lettuce and tomato (cold). Yes it was a stretch.

The temperature of my iPad has never been an issue. I worried about it when I heard all the hype about the heat of the new iPad, but it ended up being nothing more than hype.
