By the way, all this suggestion that the iPad isn't good because it has no hardware controls: it's not much of an argument. It depends entirely on the type of game you like. For some games a touchscreen is much better, for others neither a touchscreen or sticks come anywhere close to a keyboard + mouse. An iPad is much better than a high-end desktop PC or a console for some kinds of game, a pc is better for others, and a console or vita is better for still others.

If you think gaming requires sticks and buttons, all it means is that you like the kinds of game that need them. It doesn't mean everyone else likes the same games.

Personally I like puzzle + adventure games, racing games (iPad is perfect so far...), the odd mario or zelda game (vita would be perfect here if nintendo happened to make games for sony, I wouldn't want to play these on a touchscreen) and the odd FPS (only a desktop with keyboard + mouse really cuts it here!)

I agree. I much prefer playing Real Racing HD 2 on the iPad than playing a racing game with a thumb stick controller.

The only aspect I'm missing is precise throttle and brake control, that's when I wish the iPad had add-on triggers.
