Ipad (3) - Maximum/Limitation pixel size for images?

I want to transfer my folio to the new Ipad when I get one soon (I currently don't have an Ipad...)Does anyone know if there is a limitation on the pixel size an image file can be?
for example will it allow me to use jpegs that are 4096px x 6144px so that there is potential to zoom in and still retain detail when viewing?

in they keynote they said the iPhoto app can handle images up to 19 Megapixels, other than that don't know.

Thanks, that's a good point, if iphoto can handle up to 19 megapixel size files then that will be fine for folio use, giving a bit of zoom potential.
