The new ipad is just as expected. Though I wish it came with siri. It would be rather convenient for the car at times when I have to take my eyes off the road for a second to change a track.

I'm very happy with my new iPad. My partner, on the other hand, is still grumbling about the drawbacks -- increased charge time, slightly faster battery drain, and gets warmer than previous iPads -- and wondering if the retina screen is worth it.

Mostly. I was caught off guard by the charger; I have a pretty good idea of why Apple was forced to stick with the same charger, but there's no question it's affected my use of the product, since "quick charge for a little extra juice while using it in a meeting" or "quick charge for a little extra juice while waiting at the gate to board" no longer are options. I'm a heavy user, travel quite a bit with it, and don't always have the luxury of a long overnight sleep much less a long overnight iPad charge, so I've had to be a lot more frugal with it than my previous one.

In just about every other way, I love it. It's so fast. Although the display's practical benefits aren't as strong as I'd expected, I still love the display... truly, "love" is a good word for it. It's durable, the camera is astonishingly good, and outside of the charger issue the other negatives (walled garden, iTunes sucks, etc.) were all things I was expecting anyway.

On the balance, outside of the charger, it's met my expectations.

Coming from an iPad 1, I would say without a doubt the new iPad has met my expectations

I don't have one but my guess is that it's not when you use the new iPad, but using other devices with worse display that really makes the new iPad users appreciate the Retina screen. "Ew, how did I live with that blockiness??"

After 2 iPads, yes it's exactly as I expected. iPad 2 w retina display. I have no headaches now from prolonged reading. :D I'm happy and take my iPad everywhere

Definite yes. Product is better than expected, and is leaps and bounds over the "2", which I used for a 2/3 days until seeing the "3" in the apple store and the massive screen clarity difference.

It is an example of a product matching apple's marketing machine hype with no reservations.

Yep. Perfect screen (no tints, splotches or backlight issues). Big step up from my first gen iPad. Very happy with it.

I am very happy with mine. I have read three books on it and I am not a big reader but the fonts are so perfect.

My screen is a bit yellow but perfect otherwise.

It has generally speaking. Retina display is great for reading. Only thing that bothers me a little is the slight pink/green tint in certain lighting conditions. Other than that, I really have nothing to complain about. It's a great device supported by an outstanding ecosystem of apps and media. Apple really did it right.

Perfect!

Got mine at Best Buy,2 weeks ago,16gb wifi black
It is perfect, perfect bright screen,no backlight bleed at all,my iPad 2 had significant backlight bleeding,I don't know why so many are having problems,I am pretty OCD myself and this is perfect am very happy withit, love the retina screen! Couldn't be happier!

Definitely yes

Also noticed that my wife is borrowing it for a couple of hours in the evening, coincidentally or not, since I upgraded to the 3. She never touched it before.

I voted undecided for two reasons really. I really wanted a 128GB version, and my new 3 is already pretty full.

It also seems to be optimised for gaming, and the screen is really nice, BUT it seems to suffer a little from keyboard lag.

On the whole, it's a nice device, but 128GB would have been a nice option.

Yes and now I'm just waiting for the develops to update their apps to "FULLY" support the stunning retina display :D

In general, the new iPad has met my expectations.

The screen resolution is great and i'm liking the slightly more vivid colour saturation too.

There aren't any other positive notable differences in anything else though, coming from an iPad 2. Speed/performance is no different, and I have never used an iPad for photography, so I can't appreciate the camera upgrade.

I haven't seen any flaws in the screen or noticed the unit getting hot in the bottom left hand corner, so I'm generally happy. It is noticably heavier to hold for long periods than the iPad 2 though, which is slightly dissapointing.

Definitely no. Just because of non-existing QC. 2 iPads with screen issues, then found good one - after 5 days rear camera on a "good one" stop to work. Gave up and got refund. Will try again 2-3 months later. Own several Apple devices (MacMini, ACD 27, MacBook Pro 15, iPhone 4, iPad 1) and never had such bad buying experience with my other Apple devices.

Its lived up to my little boy's expectations (if he had any, he's only 2)

"Daddy, puter, daddy...daddy, puter......daddy puter"

He sits down, touches his "personal folder" and then touches his dinosaur app, then out and into Dr Suess Dino App, then into Pepper Pig, then into Mr Fox.

He bloody loves it.

This is my first one, and it has lived up to my expectations. :D I expected a super portable, fully functional (for my everyday purposes) computer. It is exactly that. I use Safari, Facebook, Music, Video, a bunch of games, a bunch of entertainment apps, shopping/auction apps, Pages and Numbers, and it handles all of it quite well. The speed is great. The screen (sharpness and color temp) is amazing!!! Once I move into a larger house/condo and have an office, I'll replace my MBP with an iMac. I haven't even started using it with my :apple:TV yet. The learning curve on the touch screen keyboard has been reduced by using the split keyboard function. The New iPad is awesome.

I did trade the LTE version for WiFi only once VZ wouldn't give me my normal discount on the data. The data pricing is still way too high for me.
