iPad 3 Refurb...

In the time its taken for me to choose between a new 4 and a refurb 3, the refurbs are out of stock on the UK site 🙁

Is the 3 a worthwhile and decent update from my 2?

I wouldn't be buying a 3 with the 4 out. The processor upgrade alone is worth the price difference.

I need to restore cause I've got 7.2GB of "other" on my ipad.

I've been searching for an answer on how to delete/clear it out but it seems a restore is the only thing that will work.

That makes sense.

Sure wish there was another method, but in all honestly, 6.0 works well with the iPad(3). At least I've had no issues whatsoever with it.

Good to hear. I'm a little chicken to jailbreak it (stupid, I know) but is there on for iOS 6 yet? That would be the only thing holding me back from leaving 5.1.1.
 
No jailbreak for the 6.0 but you know what I've found- jailbreak is wonderful for the iPhone but not as necessary or even desirable on the iPad (opinions will vary!).

I've just started looking into it but that sort of makes sense.
 
One of the main reasons I got a ipad 3 was refurb models are almost guaranteed to be on 5.1.1 which means it is compatible. I prefer jailbreak on all my devices. iphone 5 has factory ios 6 and personally prefer 5.1.1 with jailbreak. The price was crazy cheap along with the free smart cover. I was able to swap into the ipad 3 16gb with smart cover for what I sold off the ipad 2 16gb for on craigslist.

Allot of people that been getting the refurb ipad 3 are stating that its with 5.1.1

I ordered a refurb on Tuesday about five minutes after they were put on the refurb store and it had 5.1.1 on it, so you may get your wish after all!

How did you get that price and the free smart cover???

Just paid $412 for the same exact model after tax and no cover. 😡
