OP, great job!

May I ask, what is your workflow getting photos to and from the iPad?

Do you use Aperture or Lightroom on your main computer?

How do you sync images?

Do you sometimes edit on the iPad (presumably in iPhoto) and have a way of getting the images back to your computer?

Thank.
I put the images I want on the iPad in a folder (with sub folders, which creates albums) and then sync that folder via iTunes. I don't do any editing on the Pad itself, it's used purely for viewing images only.

Excellent review, have you review iPhone 4S camera? :)
I don't have a 4s, decided it wasn't a big enough jump from the 4, sorry :)

Reading this post just cost me eight hundred bucks! :) I was holding on to my 64gig iPad 2 thinking it was just fine, but your post persuaded me to bite the bullet and get the iPad 3.

As far as transferring Photos from the iMac to the iPad, what I usually do is just move the files (RAW or JPEG) to an SD card and then insert the SD card into the iPad using the Apple camera connection kit.

Thanks for the great review, Richard. I've been simply stunned by how wonderful my pictures look on my new iPad--and that's with the white-framed version! (I know black is to be preferred for viewing photos, but I just love how the thing looks in white.)

Thanks for a great review. And confirming the black frame is best long term, even if white is snazzy for a short time.
