iPad 3 Sleep Wake Function Moved - iPad 2 Cases may not work

How well do the magnets hold up on the slim case and has anyone had any issues shipping to the US?

NM. I see the seller is based out of the UK. If this doesn't fit I gotta think it'd be a huge pain to return.

Well, I got the Yoobao Executive as well this week (this one) -- and it works fine with my new iPad 3. Wakes/sleeps when I open the cover.

I have the CaseCrown Bold Standby for my new iPad, and even though they say the sleep/wake function only works on iPad 2, it is working fine with my new iPad, FWIW.

I had the same results. I bought my Sena Florence last year for my iPad 2 and it worked great with the sleep/wake function. It physically fits the new iPad just fine, but the tiny magnet used for the sleep/wake function is out of place for the new iPad. I think I will try to modify it with a larger magnet that is better placed for the sleep/wake on the new iPad.

Yup, that's the same one I got, only in brown, and it definitely does not work. Seems like the magnets moved just enough to put it on the edge of their tolerance band. Some work, and some don't.

It hasn't been working with mine, I'll play around with it some more but will probably get a new one.

Funny thing- we got 2 CaseCrown Bold Standbys, fuchsia & blue. The sleep/wake works perfectly on the fuchsia one but does not work at all on blue. Tried switching the iPads and blue case still did not work. CaseCrown website basically says case is compatible with New IPad but that sleep/wake function is not. Guess you are just lucky if it works!
 
We can definately confirm it is a polarity issue. We've taken one of our iPad 2 cases apart flipped the magnet round and now sleep wake works with our iPad 3.

Simple!!!

The good thing is that flipping the magnet round does effect how the sleep wake works on the iPad 2. iPad 2 isn't polarity sensitive. It doesn't matter which way the magnet is on iPad 2 - sleep wake will still work. So it should take long for manufactures to change production and become polara aware!!!

So I think its going to be hit or miss with third party cases. It's very dependant on production methods.

We've just paused production of our cases and have asked the factory to flip the magnet in our cases...
 
MaiKai: Is it safe to order form your website? Will the Ultra Slim Leather Smart Case definitaly work on the new Ipad or should i wait for the factory to make proper changes?

Can you deliver other colors besides black?
 
I have the clamcase keyboard case for iPad 2 and the New iPad actually fits better than the 2. But I can confirm that the sleep wake function does not work.

Just received my ultra slim from maikai and it doesn't work, a little annoying since they knew there was a problem over a week ago but sent it out anyway.
