iPad 3 WiFi vs AT&T

I recently bought what I thought was the iPad 3 Wifi and when I got home I realized they gave me the AT&T version. Is there any disadvantage in having this version if I never plan on using the AT&T Data?

There's no downside to owning the AT&T version of the New iPad over the WiFi only version. As long as you keep cellular data turned off, battery life and performance are identical. The AT&T version is 10 grams heavier, but the resale value is increased.

Lucky you, then! 😀 Not really any disadvantages, it's actually rather nice to have the option for 4G internet.

They scanned the tag I brought up to them and radioed for someone to bring it up. I was at a Sams C.

i love my wifi model. I never take my ipad anywhere in public, so wifi works well for me

Ah, good to know. I'll have to watch what is brought up when I make electronics purchases there. This could just have easily happened in reverse. 🙂

The wifi only version also does not have GPS. Maybe you could benefit with that feature and still not use cellular data

WiFi model is about 0.1 ounce lighter than cellular plus WiFi model. If weight an issue

There are plenty of GPS apps that don't require cellular data.
