Pinch to close is jerky on all iPads, even the iPad Air. It has noting to do with performance, it's just the way the animation is.

I think the switch from blurred wallpaper to unblurred is what makes it feel jerky you'll notice the switch if you do the gesture slowly, it still does this with reduce motion on.
Edit: actually this only happens with certain apps like Safari and reminders, looking at it again it looks like the biggest problem is that halfway through the animation the icons just immediately snap to their grids instead of it being one smooth consistent animation.

Exactly. You can control the animation with your fingers if you use the five finger gesture, and if you perform the gesture very slowly you'll see that at some point the animation just suddenly skips ahead.

How about keyboard lags? Does it still ocurr?
And how about apps? iOs is laggy, but what with apps? Do they work normally?

Count me in as another iPad 3 owner who noticed a performance increase with 7.0.3 over previous 7.x.x versions.

I also have reduce motion turned on.

I'm not quite sure you can judge the iPad air until it has actually been tested.

Man lets hope you're right, ordered mine today. If they ship something new with a bug like this, I thinkmill kinda lose a part of my yearlong faith in apple.

I for one am hoping that Apple will release a 7.0.4 update that will further optimize IOS 7 for all iPads yet this week. It really just felt like 7 wasn't quite ready for the iPads.

Works fine on my iPhone 5....

How's the web surfing for those using iPad 3 on iOS 7 now? My mom uses iPad 3 and complains about the freezes when using Safari, but she's still on iOS 6, so I'm wondering if iOS 7 can improve that. If not, looks like I may have to get her an iPad Air sooner than later.

ipad 3 here.

animations are still horrible. purple tint in folders and dock every time i pinch to cose an app.

still not fluid.

ios 7 looks prettier in a lot of instances and i love the design langugae but iOS 6 felt strudier and better on my ipad.

what can you do.

At the risk of being called a lier again, I'll say this. 7.0.3 works very well on my iPads (3 & 4). I use the iPad3 more because it has all my work files and documents on it. It's a 64GB WiFi only model.

Safari is very smooth and fast (faster than iOS6 Safari). I also play games on this one, and it works well. I'm all for performance tweaking, but even if they do no more work on iOS7, it works very well for me

All of these bad experiences are very disappointing.

I will be leaving my iPad 3 on the latest version of iOS 6 to be free of glitches.

No issues at all...works fine for me on my iPad 3. The swipe back and forward is very nice as well rather than using the buttons.

What about all the good experiences as well?

i noticed a big difference since installing iOS 7.0.3 on my ipad 3 and also iphone 4. before it where horrible especially on the iphone. but since the latest update, both runs so much better. i also have a iphone 5c and a ipad mini, which runs fine too! well, the iphone 5c is a no brainer that it should be working good lol xD

My girlfriend's iPad 3 is terrible on 7.0.3- it drops frames through almost every animation, some apps which haven't been updated for iOS 7 yet don't exhibit these frame drops though. Safari is also a terrible experience compared to that on my iPhone 5- when swiping back on my iPhone 5 it takes me back to the exact position on the page that I was at previously, and is responsive immediately. On the iPad, it usually always has to reload the previous page (I.e. isn't immediately responsive) and doesn't take me back to the position that I was at on that page. My brother's iPad 4 does the same thing. iOS 7 on the iPad seems like a terrible experience so far.

iOS 7.0.3 was a big improvement over 7.0.2 for my iPad 3, but I still regret upgrading from iOS 6.x.

Performance is still not as good as it was on 6 (for example, background music skips/pauses a LOT when web browsing), and I still can't understand the decision to only allow 9 app icons per page in folders. And although it's a matter of personal preference, I really dislike the new garish color scheme of the icons.

I haven't had any issues upgrading on my Ipad 3 bettery battery life.Don't see a reason to upgrade my 3 since I just got the Iphone 5S.
