Will an iPad bought in the UK work on a Swedish 3g network if the iPad has been unlocked?

I would say yes. And I don't think unlocking is neccesary (at least here in Holland it isnt').

That's likely, yes. I'm using a Canadian purchased iPad in Europe with a locally purchased sim card.

It will work anywhere there's 3G.

All iPads ship unlocked for 3G. In the US you need to special request if you want a Verizon-capable tablet, but even that model (the new iPad anyway, not the iPad 2) has an unlocked SIM slot.
