Since DFU mode bypasses iOS, could you explain this?
Most of the articles I've read about getting the iPad into DFU mode says you need to hold onto both the power and home buttons for 10 secs then hold the home button for an additional time. For me, I had to hold the power and home buttons until the Apple logo appeared then continue to hold just the home button until the 'Recovery Mode' prompt comes up in iTunes.

I understood all this. What's this got to do with iOS7?

Nevermind. I'll save you the trouble. iOS7 didn't change anything about getting a device into DFU mode because it can't. One is hardware and the other software.

All you need to do is hold the lock and home buttons until screen shuts off then boot up

Isn't there something about Apple won't fix it if you're running the beta?

OP, did the advice from NotAdvisable work?

I have an iPad 2 that is currently stuck in a boot loop.

I have successfully put it into DFU mode to restore, and during the restore. It shut off. I put it into DFU mode again, and tried to restore to 6.1.3 using Shift+Click to select the IPSW, but I got error 3194 running iTunes 11.1

Everytime it "restarts" the computer announces that a device is disconnected and then reconnected.

Can anyone provide me with a fix for this issue?
