Ipad 4 owners - upgrading to the new Air 2?

I did. But damn, 6 more months the 3 will be out. Just hang on to your 4 until the 3 comes out.

Functionality wise there is no real difference other than the physical attributes, touch id, lighter, etc.

You got money burning a hole in your pocket? Here is a tip from an old man, put it into superannuation. Lolz.

I only recently upgraded my 2 to a refurbished 4 (you can find some great deals on the apple refurb store). Honestly the 2 was still working fine but I had another use for it. The retina screen on the 4 was a great upgrade for magazines, but there is little that I really feel the need to upgrade for to one of the newer models. I expect I'll upgrade whenever there starts being apps I can't use on my 4. Probably buy another refurb.

True. The iPad 4 is still a fairly capable device (so's the iPhone 5 for that matter). I've got both a 4 and an Air and speed-wise, I can't really notice any difference in typical everyday tasks (UI, web, email, etc). I do believe the 4 might match the iPad 2 in terms of longevity.

More like 10 more months

September is 7 months, 10 takes us to Christmas. Just a ball park figure broc.

The Air 2 was released on Oct 22nd brah. Since we are On Feb 20th today that would make it 8 more months if the releases are annually.

Edit: And people would be crazy to buy an ipad on release day as opposed to waiting another month for Black Friday where they are expected to be discounted another 100bucks, that that makes it 9 months.

Valid point brah. Reps for you. But that's assuming this guy lives in America.

So to bring this back to OP's original question. Should he hold out or buy an Air 2 today?

Hold out for sure if he has an Ipad 4. The only time someone should buy an Air 2 now is if they either dont have an ipad, or have an Ipad 2 and older.

I will sell my Ipad 4. My battery is horrible. I recharged yesterday. and it was 100% ,it goes to 88% without any kind of usage....It showed 1 day 1 hour on usage time, how is that possible if i didnt use it?

There must be apps running in the background or services turned on that are using the battery. That's the only logical explanation. Have you checked all that stuff?

location services off, background app refresh off ,paralaxx effect off, bluetooth off. all these things were off when the battery drained 12%.This never before to my Ipad....Also, I didnt hit 1000 cycles yet.just 100 cycles. What should I do with my Ipad? I dont have apple care.

may I will sell my 4 now and wait to get an Air 3 on October.....battery is not good anymore. what drained if i didnt use it ?Plus, the location services were off,app updates off, background app refresh off, bright at 40%.

Unless the sale is also available online for all models (capacity and cellular), waiting might not be all that useful. Besides, depending on supply some models don't get discounted (e.g. rMini back in 2013).
