IPad 4 Settings

Just received today. On my deceased iPad 2, I'd type and suggestions would appear above the keyboard. The 4 offers no help and I can't add words. Which setting do I change to get back my suggestions?

At first glance, this is a bit smaller (doesn't fit in old case) but seems identical. Anything I should be aware of?

Keyboard long press emoji make sure predictive turned on
